Did you know June is Iced Tea Month? Even more exciting, today is actually National Iced Tea Day! In celebration, we’re sharing tips to cold brew Japanese green tea. Yum!!
For this recipe, we’re using our Matcha+, which combines organic ceremonial grade matcha with organic high-grade sencha green tea for a super high-quality cup. Fresh green tea leaves are crafted by a gentle steam and dry technique and then dusted with vibrant matcha to maximize the vivid color, fragrance, and fresh taste of this blend.
To cold brew this delicious Japanese green tea, just follow these instructions:
Cold Brew Matcha+
- 4 g Matcha+
- 10 oz. cold water
- Put 4 grams Matcha+ in a pitcher or jar
- Add 10 ounces of filtered cold water
- Steep for 12 – 22 hours
- Serve over ice
One of the coolest things about Matcha+ is that it is so versatile! If you’re on the go and are craving a delicious cold brew iced tea, grab a cold water bottle, add this green tea and agitate the leaves in the water. You’ll have an instant cold brew that is so flavorful and will easily become your go-to when you’re out and about! – If you try this out, we recommend using water with added minerals (like Smartwater) to lock-in and enhance the flavor of the tea.
Another great thing about Matcha+ is how quick and easy the cold brew preparation is. Unlike other teas that need to have a preliminary bloom in hot water for 45 seconds, this tea can be placed straight into the cold water to start steeping!
