Forget to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day every year? Escape unwanted pinches from friends by carrying a cup green tea with you all day. Sure, you’re not “wearing” your tea, but it’s part of your ensemble, right?
This year, boost your focus and energy at work during St. Patrick’s Day by enjoying different green teas all day long. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a new favorite green tea!
Explore New Senchas
With a green hue that ranges anywhere from a faint grassy green to a key lime color, senchas provide vibrant flavor, color, and aroma. Our favorite sencha teas are the grassy and umami senchas of Japan. Named for the tea master who brought tea to Japan, our Eisai’s Choice Sencha is the perfect starting point for anybody looking to explore sencha for the first time. If Eisai’s Choice Sencha is a personal favorite, try Fukamushi. Grown on the foothills of an active volcano, Fukamushi is similar to Eisai’s Choice Sencha in that it shares those umami and grassy flavors, but this single-origin tea contributes notes of pine, too. Either way, a sencha will give you a uniquely vegetal flavor characteristic of Japanese green teas.
Jasmine Green Teas
Jasmine Pearls and Jasmine Reserve are two of our most beloved green teas. Both are exposed to night-blooming Jasmine, which lends its floral aroma and flavor to the green teas. If Jasmine Pearls and Jasmine Reserve are your usual go-to teas, try Blooming Bliss this St. Patrick’s Day instead. When you submerge this blooming tea in hot water, its Jasmine leaves unfurl to reveal a beautiful flower. We’ll leave the flower color a surprise for you to discover when you taste this tea for yourself!
Something Totally Different
For the green tea fan who wants to break from tradition, explore a different type of green tea all together. If savory flavors make your heart flutter, try Gunpowder. It’s the base of our Moroccan Mint tea and it’s smoky aroma and tightly-wound leaves are sure to please. If you’re usually an Earl Grey drinker and you’re just taking a break from your usual favorite, try our green tea twist on the bergamot classic with 9:00 AM. And if you’ve never tried Matcha, now’s a great time to do so! We’re still teamed up with Gift of Life to donate part of our Matcha sales to help find bone marrow donors.
There are so many exciting green teas to explore. Take this St. Patrick’s Day as an excuse to get out of your green tea comfort zone and try something new. With this many options, you’re bound to find something you love.
